New Palestinian Tourism Portal Launched

visitpalestine.ps Aims to Boost Arrivals to Palestine States - Alternative Business Solutions

RAMALLAH, Palestine, Nov. 8, 2007 -- Alternative Business Solutions, the founders of visitpalestine.ps, today announced the launch of Palestine's first online destination marketing portal www.visitpalestine.ps. The official launch will take place at the upcoming World Travel Market, London (November 12-15th).

"This destination marketing portal will definitely fill a much needed void in Palestine's online destination marketing presence. This is a great initiative and I wish the founders all the success," declared Dr. Khouloud Daibes, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities. "Tourism arrivals to Palestine are on the rise again. This October alone over 40,000 bed nights were recorded in Palestinian hotels indicating more than 350% increase from October of the previous year," said Dr. Daibes.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MoTA), just over 145,000 tourists visited Palestine in October 2007, with more than 94,000 tourists coming to Bethlehem. Similarly Jericho and Ramallah as well as other cities have also recorded increases in visitors and overnights stays in 2007.

Operated by Alternative Business Solutions (a Ramallah based Marketing and Communications Company), visitpalestine.ps features a wide selection of information and imagery from across Palestine. New photographs, fresh and updated travel information including descriptions for all the major Palestinian cities, towns and villages are available on the site. Moreover, the many religious, archeological, historical and natural treasures Palestine has to offer are also featured. Customized trip planning options, tourism maps, downloadable city guides are only some of the many additional features provided for visitors planning their trips to the Holy Land.
